From time to time, in DriveScore marketing communication, you can see DriveScore Saving Claims mentioning that you can save on DriveScore £495 or more, £245 or more, and £145 or more on your car insurance cost with a good driving score.
This DriveScore Savings Claim analysis compares the best saving returned (or maximum price difference) for car insurance quote premiums sourced directly*, and through Vast Visibility** per user, per day for annual premiums between the period of 1 August 2023 and 30 November 2023. A total of 6,157 were returned.
Insurers included in the analysis are those who returned comparable car insurance premium quotes both directly and through Vast Visibility. Eight insurance brands were included in the comparison.
The analysis was conducted on the 6,157 returned car insurance quote premiums. The data was then segmented by DriveScore (for example, where a DriveScore was not shared, where a DriveScore of 750 and above was shared, where a “good” DriveScore of between 750 and 899 was shared and where an “excellent” DriveScore of 900 and above was shared). Those users who did not share their DriveScore were no longer considered in the analysis as their DriveScore discount would not be applicable.
Age brackets have been segmented as below and the following savings were
18 to 25 years old (born between 2005 and 1999); 41% saved £495 or more
26 to 35 years old (born between 1998 and 1989); 40% saved £245 or more
The general population, 51% saved £145
*Direct quotes are where a quote is returned directly from the insurer and the user has opted in to sharing their DriveScore in return for a discount on their premium.
**Vast Visibility quotes are returned from a third-party integration platform which does not take into account nor provide any discount for a user’s DriveScore.
